Trusting Your Intuition When It Would Be Easier Not To
Podcast 134: Trusting Your Intuition When It Would Be Easier Not To
What happens when your intuition says no, but everything in you wants to just go along with it?
In this episode, I’m talking about those moments when we know something doesn’t feel right, but we’re tempted to override ourselves because we don’t want to be difficult, hurt someone’s feelings, rock the boat, or make things more complicated.
I share a few recent examples from my own life, like when it seemed like something should be simple… until my intuition said, nope, this isn’t it.
We’ll talk about:
-
Why disappointment can sometimes help you reconnect with what you actually want
-
The belief that things are always working out for you
-
How to tell the difference between overthinking and an intuitive nudge
-
Why that initial “ugh, this doesn’t feel right” deserves your attention
-
The ways we override ourselves to be easier, kinder, or more well-liked
-
How to listen to your intuition without being unkind or creating unnecessary conflict
-
What to do when you realize you’ve been ignoring yourself
-
How nervous system regulation and getting back into your body can help you hear yourself more clearly
-
Why trusting yourself is something you get to practice over and over again
You don’t have to know the entire path forward.
Sometimes you just have to listen to what feels true right now, take the next step, and trust that you can figure out the rest from there.
And if you need a reminder this week:
Things are always working out for you.
