Episode #90: The Power of Emptying Your Cup

Empty Your Cup: Creating Space to Receive
We’re told to “fill our cup.”
To rest, recharge, and take care of ourselves so we can show up for others. And that’s true — you can’t pour from an empty cup.
But here’s something we don’t hear enough:
Sometimes, your cup is too full.
It’s filled with commitments that once mattered but no longer light you up.
It’s holding onto routines that keep you on autopilot instead of helping you grow.
It’s cluttered with emotions, fears, and stories you’ve carried for years.
When your cup is that full, there’s no room for the new things you’ve been asking for.
Why Emptying Your Cup Matters
Recently, I’ve been clearing out my home, repainting rooms, donating clothes, and letting go of items that were just taking up space.
And I noticed something: every time I clear a space in my home, I feel lighter inside.
Our outer environment and inner environment are deeply connected.
When we make space physically, we often make space mentally and emotionally.
Listening to My Intuition
Often saying no creates the space I need to focus on my coaching, my health, my family, and the projects that are calling me forward.
Sometimes, saying no is making room for the yes you’ve been waiting for.
Three Questions to Ask Yourself:
-
What feels heavy or outdated in my life right now?
-
If I made space in my schedule, mind, or home, what could that open the door to?
-
Where is my intuition asking me to pause or say “not right now”?
