The 100 Episodes of Trusting Yourself and Six Lessons Learned Along the Way

 

So here we are 100 episodes in. Not a finish line, just another milestone on the path of self-trust, growth, and joy.

One hundred weeks of showing up, creating, trusting, and growing. Some weeks with clarity, others with less than perfect clarity, but plenty of trust. 

When I began this podcast (back when it was Real & Uplifted), I told myself I’d “give it 100.” I didn’t know where it would go, only that I wanted to share the journey of trusting myself more deeply, and hopefully help you do the same.

So today, I’m reflecting on six of the biggest lessons these episodes (and life) have taught me.


1. Consistency > Perfection

You don’t get better at things you don’t do. Whether it’s recording a podcast, working out, or building habits, the magic happens in the doing, not the overthinking.


Some weeks I recorded with the wrong mic. Other weeks I changed my topic the day of recording. But showing up imperfectly built more trust in myself than waiting for “perfect” ever could.


2. Not Everyone Will Get It

Your message isn’t meant for everyone. The people who need to hear it will. The rest will take what they need, or scroll past, and that’s okay.


Releasing the need to be understood creates peace. You don’t need everyone’s agreement to live your truth.


3. Your Triggers Are Teachers

The moment my daughter read one of my show notes out loud and giggled, I was triggered... hard, in that beautiful way only a daughter can... But that moment reminded me that even when we think we’re free from caring what others think, there’s always a layer deeper.


Triggers aren’t proof you’ve failed; they’re invitations to see where you still need compassion and courage.


4. Growth Requires Repeating the Difficult Lessons

Sometimes it’s not “new levels, new devils” ... it’s new levels, same devils.


We circle back to the same patterns until we’re sturdy enough to move through them differently. Like my daughter learning from each goal that slips by her as goalkeeper, we learn from what gets through, not by pretending it didn’t happen.


5. Your Energy Is Everything

Boundaries, rest, and regulation aren’t luxuries, they’re strategy.
Think of it like a rubber band: the pause and pullback give you power to spring forward. You don’t have to be “on” all the time; honor your seasons, the fall of letting go, the winter of rest, the spring of renewal, and the summer of joy.


6. Gratitude & Becoming Can Coexist

You can be deeply grateful for where you are and still want more.
Gratitude isn’t settling; it’s the fuel that sustains growth.
We’re often thankful when results show up, the weight lost, the business milestone, the visible success, but forget to thank ourselves for every small, quiet action that led there.

And here’s the magic: you can also feel gratitude for what hasn’t happened yet.


Gratitude for the pounds that will drop, the clients that will come, the love that’s expanding. Feel it now. Gratitude is both the bridge and the destination.
