Episode #127: Perfect Place, Perfect Time, and What You Must Know This Week

Perfect Place, Perfect Time
17:11

Welcome to this week’s episode of Trusting Dorothy.

We’re fully back from Japan, from a few weeks of free coaching around health, fitness, and fat loss and now stepping into a new era.

I’m someone who loves a plan. I like to know where I’m going, what I’m doing, and having it on the schedule. There’s something really grounding about that. But I’ve also found that stepping outside of your comfort zone, and into a little bit of the unknown, can bring something really meaningful too.

So I’ve been sitting in that question:
Where do we go from here?
Do I need a plan for the next few weeks?
Or can I learn to be in the unknown and feel good there?

What I keep coming back to is this balance between freedom and structure.

I see it in my workouts, showing up live three days a week at 6:00 AM gives me consistency and structure. And then having one workout I can do on my own time brings in that freedom.

I see it in teaching Pilates too. I always preferred creating my own classes, having that space to flow and move intuitively, but there’s still a foundation there. A rhythm. A structure that supports it.

So that’s what we’re exploring here on the podcast right now too.

And for today, I’m sharing four things you need to know this week—things that have been on my mind, and things you can take into your own life in a way that feels supportive, grounding, and real.

1. Peace is within you.

That stillness, that calm, if you don’t find it within yourself first, it’s hard for the outside world to reflect it back to you.

Even in a full schedule, there’s space for a moment of calm. Maybe it’s when you wake up. Maybe it’s right before bed. Maybe it’s a pause at the end of your workout.

The more I’ve anchored into this, the more I notice it reflected back to me. Or maybe I’m just more open to seeing it.

And no, it doesn’t mean I always feel calm. I can still go into fight-or-flight. But I know there’s a place I can return to. I know it’s there.

2. Let every moment of life be your favorite.

Looking back at old photos and memories this past week, I kept thinking:
What a good life it has been.
And what a good life it is.

There used to be more of a mix—some happiness, some sadness looking back. And now it feels more like I can hold both, but really land in the good.

Because even in those moments, I know life wasn’t perfect. There was stress, busyness, things going on behind the scenes.

But life is both.

And training yourself to see how good it is right now, in this moment shifts everything. It’s a choice. One you can keep coming back to again and again.

3. Life isn’t always easy and that’s part of it.

We want life to feel good. We want to recognize the good and allow more of it in.

But doing hard things, stretching outside your comfort zone, showing up when there’s resistance, that’s part of it too.

There’s a difference between something feeling hard because you don’t want it, and something feeling hard even though a part of you does want it.

That resistance? You can move with it.

I felt that even recording this episode. I kept putting it off, feeling unclear, wanting it to be really good. And the more I waited, the harder it felt to start.

What helped was a little structure. Writing things down. Giving myself a time to record. Deciding it didn’t have to be perfect.

And then just starting.

4. You are in the perfect place at the perfect time.

This is something I choose to believe, over and over again.

Just like I’ve decided it’s always easy for me to find a parking space, and somehow, it always works out that way, this belief shapes how I move through my life and what is reflected back to me.

Perfect place. Perfect time.

It softens the pressure. It takes away some of the overthinking around what’s next or how things are going to happen.

You can just take the next step. You can enjoy your life as it is right now.

Because if you’re always focused on what’s next, you miss what’s here.

Wherever you are right now busy, not busy, full of goals, or not even sure what your next step is I hope you let yourself see how good it is.

And trust that it’s all working out.
